As an artist, the arrival of fall is one of my favorite times of the year. There’s something magical about the way the world transforms, as if nature herself is showing off her most vibrant palette. The trees catch fire in shades of amber, crimson, and gold, and I feel a deep, irresistible urge to soak up every last bit of this fleeting beauty. The warm afternoons beg to be spent outdoors, while the crispness of morning and evening whispers that winter is just around the corner, bringing with it cozy nights and hot cocoa and good books consumed by the fire.
Fall inspires my art like no other season. Every time I step outside, I'm struck by the richness of the colors around me—the fiery aspens, the golden cottonwoods, the way the late afternoon sun filters through rust-colored leaves. I feel a rush of creative energy, and all I want to do is paint, paint, paint! The sights of this season, from the crunch of leaves beneath my feet to the soft glow of an autumn sunset, fill my heart and my canvas with joy.
In Colorado, it is also prime biking and camping. I am so lucky to have a passion for painting that travels with me and a partner who makes it his mission to find the best vantage point and sitting spot for me to capture it all. It's good to find people and places that fill your heart and soul.
Do you feel the same way? Are you drawn outside this time of year, eager to savor every moment of the season's warmth before it slips away? There’s something about fall that makes you pause, appreciate, and breathe deeply. It’s a season that feels like a gift—a little reminder to take in the world’s wonders before they change again.
